Thai Visa Runs

by Dennis on March 10, 2007

Foreign tourists who visit Thailand will normally get a free 30 day Visa on Arrival…A 10 day extension can be purchased at an immigration office anywhere in Thailand…But it will cost you 1,900 baht…If you are wanting to stay longer in Thailand…Then you have to leave the country and return back again…For another 30 days…This is called a Visa Run…Which many of us foreigners who live here have to do from time to time…You can only make 2 Visa Runs renewing your Visa on Arrival each time for 30 days making a total of 90 days…Then you must leave Thailand & you won’t be allowed to visit again for 90 days…Using the Visa on Arrival method of entry into Thailand…

During this 90 day restricted period…You can purchase a Tourist visa from a Thai Embassy or Consulate outside of Thailand which you can then use to visit Thailand during these 90 days…Just ask any foreigner who lives in Thailand & they will help you…
